Birthday Fun!

So... my birthday was nearly a month ago.... but its better late than never to post about it!  Rian did amazing surprising me with everything!  I love him so much :)  It started Saturday May 1 (the day before my birthday) when Rian surprised me with a trapeze class!  That is something I've been wanting to do for YEARS.  But I had no idea you could do it in St. Louis!  Here are some photos of my talents.... :)

The next day was my birthday... May 2... the big 2-7!!!  Sounds old, doesn't it!?  I think so.  We started the day with brunch at the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park.  That is where my brother is getting married this summer so we thought we should check it out!  The food was amazingly delicious.  And I loved spending the morning with my family.  Here are some pics:

 

Then - we headed to West County mall so I could pick out my birthday present - new sunglasses!

Then... Rian took me to the Kitchen Conservatory in Clayton for dinner!  It was a couples cooking class where we got to cook the meal ourselves!  It was so "us".  We love to cook and we love to eat!  And best of all it was a "Cinco de Mayo" theme menu!  

It was such a great birthday!

Bucky's First Haircut!

Our baby got his first haircut last week!  I realize dog milestones are not nearly as exciting as babies', but hey, we're taking baby steps (no pun intended)!  Here are some 'after' pics:

He has also formed a love for the bathroom.  He is always in there pouncing on the trash can, licking water off the floor or our feet, or sitting under the toilet paper roll hoping it falls down.  See below :)

We have gotten out a little bit lately however!!  We have 'date night' every month, plus last month's combo platter of Valentine's Day on 2/14 and Rian's Birthday on 2/15 definitely brightened up our winter!  I absolutely, positively cannot wait for spring.  Just driving home from work with the sun still shining is good start to the season for me!!  Cardinals baseball season is just around the corner.........

Last weekend the weather was great so we went on a hike to Castlewood State Park in Ballwin MO.  It was a lot of fun to get outside and see nature!

OH!  I almost forgot.  My parents got a puppy too!  I'd like to think its because they have been feeling the empty nest since I've been gone almost 6 months now :)  But anyway, he is a Westie and they named him Clancy.  He is so precious!  We've even had a puppy playdate already!  The boys really like eachother :)  Bucky is 4 weeks older so he's a little bossy with Clancy, but I think after time they'll be great friends!

It's Puppy Time!

Two weeks ago Rian and I drove to Buffalo, MO, to pick up our firstborn son!  HAHA.  He is a Shih Tzu.  He was 8 weeks old when we got him, and he is 10 weeks now.  Bucky Blue is his full name - but we just call him Bucky.  We absolutely love him!!  Please enjoy.......
