11 Months Old

Yesterday, Hailey Rian turned 11 months old.  She is such a sweet, spunky little girl!  She is daring, smart, funny, and curious!  She is the light of my life (in addition to my incredible, loving husband).  I can't believe she has only been in our lives for 11 short months, because I can't imagine my life without her.  Having her makes me realize what really matters in life.

Ok enough sappy stuff!  Time to talk about her amazing feats this month - there are so many!

She can walk using her musical walker, and she cruises really fast around all the furniture.  Hopefully she will be walking on her own soon!

Check out this vid!

She pulls up and stands everywhere - sometimes scaring me with her bravery!

tippy toes!!

watcha cookin?

She likes to feed us her food AND feed Bucky her food!  She drops little morsels off the side of her high chair then peers over to see if Bucky snatched it up or not.  Poor Bucky now camps out under her high chair at every meal!

She can blow kisses, point at things she wants, and wave 'bye-bye' to daddy when he leaves for work in the morning.  She gives high fives (daddy taught her that!), loves to turn lightswitches on and off and open and close doors.  Also whenever I brush her hair she always reaches for the hairbrush and then brushes my hair!  It is so cute!

A few weeks ago I put her at the bottom of the basement stairs just to see what she would do - and she climbed up the whole flight with no problem at all!  Now whenever we're playing in the basement she darts over to the stairs as fast as she can to practice her new skill.  So I now block the staircase with boxes, tubs, and laundry baskets and she gets so mad about it!  Sorry kiddo!  Safety first :)

what - you don't trust me to do this alone?

As for talking, she babbles and jabbers all.day.long.  It is so stinkin' adorable - she wants to talk so bad!  She does point to the dog and say "daw!" so I think its safe to say that "dog" is her first word!!   Speaking of the dog, her and Bucky are the cutest little buddies.  They now fight with toys back and forth.  She will be holding a toy and he will come and grab it out of her hands and then she lunges towards him to try to get it back!  Sometimes he gets too excited and practically pounces on her!  Too rough, Bucks, too rough.  Poor Hails gets knocked over half the time!  But all her smiles and giggles convince me that they're having fun :)

Double Trouble

Bucky Blue doesn't get enough of my love these days.  Still love that sweet, silly pup :)

Hailey had her first trip to Grant's Farm and went to her first Cardinals game in this past month as well.  The Grant's Farm trip occurred during nap time so it wasn't the most exciting adventure for her.  But it's ok - she's too young to feed the goats anyway!  Perhaps later this summer.  As for the Cardinals game, we debated on whether or not to bring her since the game started at 7pm (bedtime=7:30pm), but since we were in a party suite, we wanted to make it work.  Lots of prep work on my part and it was a success!  She was able to cruise around the suite for the couple hours before the game, and she fell asleep in my arms right around 7:45pm.  She slept through all the cheers!  Such a great little Cardinals fan :)

Hailey and her best friend Kenzie (my friend Lindsay's almost 8 month old daughter) have had lots of fun playdates this past month as well.  It's been so fun to watch the kiddos grow together over the past 4 months or so.  Kenzie is such a sweet, adorable baby girl!  And its been great to "talk babies" with Lindsay!  She has helped me so much get Hailey's sleeping on track and I've helped her out with homemade baby food making!

What else happened this month?  Oh yes, I turned 29!  My family was so good to me.  After a delicious breakfast at Chris' Pancake House on the Saturday before my birthday, Rian surprised me with some time at the driving range, which is something I've been wanting to do with him since we've been together (6 years!).  Don't be fooled - I'm not good - but I wanted to learn!  And he was a great teacher :)  Later that night we had sushi dinner (my fave!) while my mom watched Hailey. The next day, we went to my parents' for dinner and my mom baked an amazing from-scratch chocolate cake for me (so good that I think I'll be using the same recipe for Hailey's smash cake on her bday!)  On my actual birthday, Hailey and I went to the park with Lindsay and Kenzie. Hailey LOVES the baby swings!!  For dinner, Rian, Hailey, me and my mom went to the Elephant Bar.  It was so good!  I loved spending the day with my beautiful, happy baby girl.  She is my sunshine!

I can't believe we are in the last month before Hailey turns one.  It has been a heck of a year!  I think the first birthday is a really big deal, which is why I'm putting so much TLC into planning her birthday party.  I'm really excited to see it all come together!

Since this post has been pretty picture-heavy, I'll leave you with just one more sweet one I took today... :)
