Hailey's New Room

It's official... Hailey Rian Buckner is not a baby anymore.  She is 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days old (yes seriously), and she has her very own {adorable} big girl room and she is sleeping perfectly in a big girl full-size bed.

I have had so much fun putting together her new room.  I wanted her to have a room that could last her until her early teen years, so I'm hoping that with a few tweaks as she grows up, this room will do the trick.  It was all based around the comforter which was my first purchase for her room.  Then I pulled out all sorts of bright colors for the accents and I'm really happy with the result!  I also did my best to save as much $$$ as I could while working on the room.  The dresser is from Craigslist (I repainted it), the shelves are from a garage sale (I repainted them), and the bookshelves are vinyl rain gutters.  My parents bought her the gorgeous table and chairs.  And she will have an actual bed frame eventually, but since we are just now transitioning her to a big bed, we thought we should start off with her box spring and mattress on the floor so she wasn't so high off the ground.

Here is Hailey's new room!  Please enjoy:

Here are a couple grainy pics of her first night sleeping in her big girl bed about 2 weeks ago.  She has done so well with the transition.  At first she was waking up too early in the morning (about 4:30am...) but each day she has been inching back towards her normal 6-6:15am wake up time (she goes down around 7-7:30pm each night).  She also naps successfully in her big bed for about 1.5 hours each afternoon.

We are so proud of her!

Next step: Potty training.........

7 Months Pregnant

haha
Poor thing just wanted to draw on the chalkboard, not hold it up for my picture!

Happy Girl:

Growth since last month......

7 Months down, 2 months to go!  Today I'm 31 weeks, 4 days.

Slowly but surely I'm realizing that this is actually happening.  I'm going to have 2 kids.  2 little girls!  I'm honestly getting really excited.  I know its going to hard, but I think I can handle it.  I think...

I had my 32-week checkup today and things are going right as they should.  I can't believe that I'm not swelling at all.  So different than with Hailey, but I'm definitely not complaining.  The weight gain is also so much less this time.  I'm sitting at 28 pounds gained so far, and at this point with Hailey I was closer to 40-45 pounds.  I'm going to chalk it up to healthy eating and staying super active.  I'm not technically exercising, but Hailey and I go on playdates and/or run errands nearly every day and hoisting her 28-pound frame in and out of the carseat and shopping carts 10+ times a day is a workout in itself!  Plus I'm not working in a hotel this time around eating bad-for-me food around the clock!

I've been feeling really well overall.  I'd say I'm pretty comfortable about 75% of the time.  The rest of the time I'm dealing with exhaustion, heartburn, and annoying nightly leg cramps!  It's getting harder to sleep at night because I'm so uncomfortable.  Up until now it hasn't bothered me to sleep on my back, but now its just too much pressure.  Plus it's been taking me at least an hour to fall asleep each night!  Annoying.

In terms of getting things ready for baby's arrival, I've made a little progress over the past month.  I've gone through all my tubs of Hailey's clothes from newborn to 6 months and got everything washed and put away.  Plus, my generous mother in law brought over tons of new clothes as well.

This was a project..........

New things from Grandma Marge
Hailey's big girl room is about 90% complete, which means that baby's room is next on the agenda. We have pulled down the wallpaper border in there, but that's about it.  Once we get the walls painted I think things will start coming together.

Our family vacation was AWESOME!  We had so much fun and such a relaxing week.  Being pregnant didn't hold me back from doing anything on vacation... except of course for cocktails and bikinis... ha!  Here is a preggo beach pic:

See ya next month!

Mommy's Little Helper

Hailey Rian is now 26 months old and is testing out her independence.  She wants to help me with everything I do or try to do it herself.  It is so, so sweet!  She frequently says "My try!"  or "I do it!" or "My turn!!"  Here are some of my favorite pics of my sweet little helper:

She LOVES helping me switch the laundry from washer to dryer, especially slamming the door when we're done- "bam!!"

Whenever we're at a store she is always ready to "checkout?!"  And she helps me put the items onto the belt.  Her favorite part, though, is the little pen on the debit/credit card machine.  "Write my name" she says, as she scribbles on the pad and pushes buttons she shouldn't be pushing :)

Hailey LOVES to help me cook and bake.  Whenever I ask if she wants to help me make something she says, "where's my scooper??" (meaning measuring cup).

"Make smoovie?! (smoothie)"  "Put booh-ries (berries) in there!?"  "I push button!"

She loves getting Bucky his food.  No matter if his bowl is empty or not, whenever she walks by his dish she says, "uh oh! needs more! I do it"

She also loves to throw away any trash she sees, brush her own hair, pick out her own milk cup, buckle her own car seat and booster seat straps, and brush her own teeth.  It is so fun to watch her grow up, and it's nice to have a little assistant always willing to help!  Love you so much baby girl :)
