13 Months Old

Addison,

The first month of your second year is already behind us.  You are as cute and sweet as ever and I feel like you've grown up a ton in the past month.  Your hair is growing longer (and starting to curl a little bit!!), you are quick on your feet (when you're holding onto things), you can stand up by yourself for about 10 seconds at a time, and you are taking a few steps here and there.  But you are certainly not a "walker" yet.  And I'm totally okay with that.  I have a feeling you'll be walking by Christmas... talk about the best gift ever!

A few days after you turned 1, you celebrated your second Halloween.  But since last year you were only 9 days old on Halloween, this was the first year you wore a costume and went trick-or-treating!  And by trick-or-treating I mean you were bundled up in 20 layers of clothes and buckled into the wagon while Hailey hopped in and out to trick-or-treat :)

A few days later we had a fun day playing in the leaves at grandma & grandpa's house!

You've started to do this darling little "cheese face"....

You wore your first pony tail....  :)

We went to Jeff City...

We watched daddy run his first 10k!

And had lots of other miscellaneous fun!

And if one thing is certain, it's that you love to eat.  You have no idea how big of a deal that is to me.  Your sister's picky and just plain terrible eating habits have been a thorn in my side since she was 15 months old, and it's SUCH a relief for me to know that you will eat whatever I put in front of you.  Please, oh please, keep it up!

Last but not least, we took a trip to Kansas City to visit mommy's college friends.  It's the first time we've all been together since anyone but me has had kids and it was so much fun for everyone to be together!

Until next month, baby girl!

Love you forever,
Mommy

1 Year Old

Addison Leigh Buckner,

A couple weeks ago, you turned one year old.  So hard to believe.  Those 12 months flew by in the blink of an eye.  You are calm, easygoing, curious, silly, bashful, deliciously chubby, angelic, and just sweet, sweet, sweet.

Stats at 1 Year Old:
- 23 pounds, 3 ounces (81%)
- 28 and 3/4 inches tall (40%)
- Very light brown/dark blonde hair
- Gray/Green eyes (like mommy!)
- 18 month clothes
- Size 3 or 4 shoes
- Size 4 diapers
- 7 teeth (4 top and 3 bottom) plus 4 molars about to break through any day now

Food & Drink:
You are an awesome eater.  You eat absolutely everything I give you. The only thing you hesitate on is bananas... but if I put a little peanut butter on them you scarf them up.  Today you had oatmeal with a little maple syrup and some diced apples for breakfast, cheese, mandarin oranges, bread, and yogurt for lunch, and mango, avocado, tortilla, and baked Cod for dinner.  You nurse 3 or 4 times a day and have 1 or 2 sippy cups of whole milk per day.  You love milk and you still love your water!

Sleeping:
You take 2 1-hour naps per day (at approx 9am and 1:30pm) and go down for the night around 7-7:30pm.  On average you wake up at 6am, but lately its been around 5:15 or 5:30 so I've been nursing you and putting you back to sleep for a little while.  You usually self-soothe to sleep without a problem by playing with your hair {its always the right hand to the right side of your head}.  No loveys or special attachments at this point.  And you only sleep on your back.  You never, ever stand up or even roll over in your bed, not even when you wake up.  You just lay there.  I think it's pretty odd, but I'm not complaining!  You are a great sleeper {knock on wood}.

All clean & ready for bed!

Your daily words are:
- bye bye
- dada
- daddy
- mama
- dog dog
- I think I may have heard "wawa" (water) and some form of "sissy" come out of your mouth lately but I can't be sure...

Movement:
You are crawling like a mad woman, and cruising like crazy.  You can stand on your own for a max of about 8 seconds, but haven't taken any steps yet.  You aren't a climber yet either so our stairs are still safe without a gate.

So much fun on our family walk!

Toys;
You don't really love playing with toys {but you do love to throw them....}.  You prefer remotes, phones, computers.... anything with buttons!  You are starting to show interest in baby dolls and books which is really cute, and you still put everything in your mouth.

Ummmm... cutest picture ever.
As you get older, I never want to forget how sweet and innocent you are at one year old.

That face...

That face...

Those rolls...

Those noises...

The way you play so well with your sister...

The way your laugh brightens my day...

The way you spin in circles on your bottom...

And so many more things I hope my mind and my heart will always remember.

Happy First Birthday, baby girl.  You are my world!

Love,
Mommy
