6 Months Old

Six. Months. Young.

This girl.

This face.

Those rolls.

She has absolutely stolen my heart.

Not sure why but I have it bad for this girl.  I bonded with her quicker than I did with Hailey.  I really felt my bond with Hailey start to take off early in her second year.  Around 13-16 months I'd say.  But this time around it hit much sooner.. around 4-5 months I felt the connection and bond that every mother wants with their child.  And I really think it's because she's the second child (and most likely our last).  With the first child, everything is so exciting and new.  You can't wait for them to reach each milestone and do new things.  But with the second, you slow down and savor each moment more.  You don't freak out if they don't hit milestones when they're "supposed to".  You don't freak out if your child is in the 99% for weight.. :) You just slow down and enjoy each moment, imperfections and all.

To the details!

Height: 26.5 inches (78%)
~
Weight: 20 lbs 6 ounces (99%)
~
Diapers: Size 3
~
Clothes: 9 months, but I'll be starting the 12's pretty soon...
~
Eating:  Still exclusively breastfed, and still doesn't take a bottle.  Nurses 4 times per day and 1 time during the night.
~
Solids: We started solids about 3-4 weeks ago, and she loves them. We've done bananas, avacado, apples, pears, carrots, and sweet potatoes.  Right now we're doing solids once a day {at dinnertime}.
~
Sleeping: She naps 3 times per day, roughly at 8am, 12pm, and 4pm.  The first two naps are 60-90 mins each and the third nap is short, around 30-45 mins.  Goes to bed between 7-7:30pm and wakes at 6:30-7am, waking once around 2-3am for a quick nursing session.  But the doc says we can cut you off from the night feed anytime now - woohoo!
Milestones achieved this month: Starting solid foods, rolling over, sitting up, AND cutting your first tooth!  Big month for you!

Easter 2014

Easter this year was another great holiday for our family.  Saturday afternoon we celebrated Easter with Grandma Marge, Grandpa Tom, and Cousin Kailee.  Grandma Peggy, Grandpa Mike, Aunt Melissa, and Cousins Collin & Keaton came over for the celebration as well.  We had a great time doing an Easter egg hunt, looking through the girls' baskets from Grandma Marge, dying eggs, eating delicious food, and watching Frozen.  Hailey & Addison looked so cute that day, too, of course ;)

Kailee (age 8) & Hailey (almost 3)

Look at my big girl sitting up!

Frozen!!
Saturday evening I got the girls' Easter baskets ready for Easter morning and helped the Easter bunny fill all the eggs for Sunday's egg hunt ;)

Easter Morning!

This looks yummy!
Then we got our pretty girls ready for the day in their Easter best.

And then we headed over to Grandma Peggy's to get spoiled rotten by her thoughtful gifts & yummy treats!!

Then outside to hunt for eggs!

I am in love with this picture.  Two cuties enjoying their lollipops.

Time to ditch the pretty clothes and get dirty!!  :)

We all had a great day, although we really missed seeing our extended family for dinner like we usually do on holidays.  A few things popped up this year that didn't allow for us all to get together and that family time was definitely missed.  Can't wait to see everyone soon!

Happy Easter!!
