15 Months Old

Addie,

2 days ago you turned 15 months old.  A quarter of your second year is already complete!  I can't believe it.  You are adorable, wonderful, sweet, stubborn, snuggly, and silly.  You are still a great eater and sleeper.  Knock on wood!

You became obsessed with books this month.  You want to read the same books over, and over, and over again.  Your two favorites are Baby Giggles and I am a Bunny.  You are constantly bringing us books then crawling in our laps so we will read to you.  It is the sweetest thing.  But if you bring us a book and we can't read to you right at that moment you will throw a big fit!

You have also fallen in love with baby dolls this month.  You always have a baby doll (or stuffed animal or Disney princess doll) in your clutches.  And you will SCREAM if we take it away! "Beh Beh!!" you yell.  You kiss and hug your dollies all day long.

I love when she snuggles with me.  Luckily there was a mirror nearby so I could capture this sweetness :)

This is the sweet face I kiss goodnight every single night.  This is what she does when I ask for kisses :)

You're still a great eater, even eating "weird" things like fish, olives, and pesto pasta without even scrunching up your face.  We have experimented with self-feeding but we haven't exactly nailed it yet...

Even though you've been eating well, you've only gained a few ounces since your birthday 3 months ago.  But you have grown over 2 inches!  We had your 15mo checkup the other day and you are 23 pounds and 8 ounces (63%).  I don't remember the exact height but it's in the 53%, so you are perfectly average and proportioned.  You are leaning out quickly most likely due to the non-stop walking/running/busyness you maintain all day long.  You've been in size 18mo clothing since you were about 9 months old and I don't see you growing out of them anytime soon.  You have short little legs and a lot of your 18s are even way too long.

Somehow, you are still a great sleeper.  There have a been a few random nights where you will wake up and fuss in the middle of the night, but 9 nights out of 10, you sleep straight through from 7:30 PM till 7:00 AM.  You nap for an hour at 9 AM and another hour at 1:30 PM.  On the random days where you sleep in till 8:00 AM you take just 1 nap around 11:30 AM.  You still sleep exclusively on your back, never roll over or stand up in your bed, not even when you wake up.  You just lay there and whine until I come get you :)

You are talking more and more each day.  Frequently used words are:
Bye Bye ("bah bah")
Dada
Dog dog ("dah dah")
Ball ("Baw")
Baby ("beh beh")
Water ("wa wa")
All gone or All done ("ahh gah" or "ahh duh") while signing it
Cracker ("ga ga")

She loves to say 'yes' to everything (it sounds like "essssss") and to this day has never said the word "no"!  Loving that.  She also says "whassat" (what's that) or "whassiss" (what's this).  If you ask her what a cow says, she will say "mmmmmmmm".  Other than that, she thinks every animal says "baa".

We took you to the Magic House for the first time a few weeks ago and you loved it!

We also went to Powder Valley over the holidays...

And when Uncle David and Aunt Leslie were here for Christmas, we went to the Science Center!

Speaking of the holidays, you were just sweet as pie on Christmas.  Laid back, not really interested in opening gifts, just wanted to snuggle all your new dollies.  Just precious.

Here are the rest of my favorite pics from your 15th month:

Your sister was sick for a few days this week so you had full reign over the toys and you loved every minute of it!
It' s no wonder the dog won't leave you alone.  All you do is feed him your food!

I have the list, mom!  Let's go shopping!
Sweetest face ever.
Normal 15 month behavior....
What is this thing??  Let's take it off.

How can I forget?  You have become in love with your belly this month!  You love to show everyone :)

Love you always,
Mommy
