15 Weeks!

Greetings Readers!

Well... I have made it to 15 weeks, and finally have a little bump to show off!

I feel like at this point people are probably wondering "is she pregnant?.... or just getting fat??"  But its ok... in about 4-5 more weeks I should definitely look more pregnant than fat :)

Baby Buckner is about 4 inches long now (from head to bottom - legs not included) and weighs about 2.5 ounces!  Keeping with our fruit comparisons, we're currently expecting a navel orange!

Overall, I'm feeling great - much better and more energetic than a few weeks ago!  And oddly enough, I'm now caffeine-free!  It's true.  About 3-4 weeks ago, I was having a typical pregnancy "aversion" to coffee, and decided that if I have to choke it down, I should probably just quit.  I switched to hot chocolate for a couple days, then just completely quit.  I had headaches for a day or two (like a true coffee addict), but now I feel great!  I've had a cup of coffee everyday since January of 2006 (yes, I remember) so this is a big accomplishment for me, plus I can only imagine that its better for the baby!

In other news, I did lots of christmas baking, shopping, and wrapping this weekend, and can't wait for Christmas next Saturday!

We have our 16-week doctor appointment on Thursday 12/23... and we can't wait to hear the little heartbeat again!

Baby, its cold outside!

This weekend was full of fun, winter festivities.  Friday was Bucky's 1st Birthday!  Yesterday we went to Rian's cousin Natalie's house to celebrate Christmas.  It was so good to see everyone and catch up.  Later, we went to my mom's cousin's house for some more food and fun!  Just like everyone else in St. Louis, we woke up Sunday to a big blanket of breezy snow on the ground!  Too bad I had to venture out in it right away to go to work!  Roads were pretty bad.. but baby and I made it to work safely!  Then when I got home, we played with Bucky out in the snow and then decorated our tree!
In baby news, I'm currently 14 weeks along and finally in my 2nd trimester.  I am feeling great!  I wish I had baby bump photos to post, but sadly I don't have a bump yet!  Just pudge :)  From head to bottom (not including its little legs), baby is currently the size of a lemon!  He or she is a little over 3 inches long and weighs about an ounce and a half.  I can't wait to find out if we're having a boy or a girl!

We're having a BABY!

Big news in the Buckner house!  Rian and I are expecting our first baby!  We found out on Friday October 8.  The past 12 weeks have been pretty good overall.  I would have to say weeks 6-8 were the worst in terms of sickness, so I'm happy those weeks are over!  I have been having some weird food aversions, too, mostly to meat and vegetables.  The thought of smelling them or eating them makes me wanna gag.  The only cravings I've had are for sweet things like fruit juices and fruity candy.

We've been to the doctor twice now and everything is looking normal, so that is a relief!  Our baby is due on June 11, 2011, which just so happens to be my favorite (and only) nephew's 3rd birthday!  We have our 20 week ultrasound on January 25 which is when we will find out if its a boy or girl!  Rian says boy... I say girl.. shocking!

Our little peanut is currently the size of a large lime and getting bigger by the day :)  Be sure to stay tuned as I am going to TRY to update weekly!
